European particleboard production dipped 1.7% to 30.220m m³ last year after edging slightly higher in 2010. By contrast, MDF/HDF production improved 1.7% to 11.7m m³ in 2011. Both figures are still significantly lower than the levels recorded in 2007. In that year, European manufacturers made 37.786m m³ of particleboard and 13.3m m³ of MDF/HDF. Producers also failed to replicate the OSB production record of 3.7m m³ dating back to 2007 despite a minor 1% upswing in output to 3.6m m³. Source: euwid-wood-products
