The East Sussex-based firm said its second Bossar machine will help it to pack its liquid waterproofing and washing formulations.
Nikwax operations director Mick Parmar said: “The Nikwax products can be challenging to pack due to the specific components in our liquid formulations. This combined with a wide range of viscosities can make our packs difficult to fill and to achieve robust liquid seals that will not leak.”
The liquids are packed in Doypack style bags with a Euro-hole.
In a statement, Bossar said: “Due to the complexity in the dosing of these types of products, a new liquid filling system has been chosen for this machine based on an Endress & Hauser mass flow meter and a new nozzle design incorporating a specially designed head with orifices that dispenses the liquid products and fills the bag whilst minimising splashing.
“With this new filling equipment, Nikwax can achieve a maximum of +/-1% of fill volume tolerance of the total desired volume, which ensures product give away is minimised.”
