BOSTON — Wayfair.com, the online retailer of home furnishings and other products, said it had a record-breaking Black Friday with sales of more than $3.5 million.
Sales for the holiday weekend were up 37% from a year ago, and the company said it more than doubled the percent of revenues from shoppers using mobile devices. Wayfair said it expects "even greater momentum today," so-called Cyber Monday.
"We are geared up for record sales this holiday season and expect to see significant year-over-year revenue growth continue throughout Cyber Monday and beyond as more and more shoppers discover Wayfair.com," CEO and co-founder Niraj Shah said in the release.
Wayfair said top selling items on Black Friday included luxury sheet sets, lamps, television stands, game tables, dolls and electronic toys.
