US Foods is planning to open a new distribution center in Seabrook, New Hampsire, to improve its serve to the customers across the New England area.
The new facility is spread across an area of more than 500,000ft2, including additional dry and cold storage and fleet fueling and maintenance areas.
Currently, the company serves this customer base from its 188,000ft2 facility in Peabody, Massachusetts.
US Foods Boston Division president John Glynn said, "This new building will allow us to better serve our more than 2,000 customers throughout New England and operate from a more efficient and modern facility which will benefit the company, its customers and the nearly 300 employees in the Boston Division."
The company has teamed up with the ESI Group for the renovation of the new facility. Construction is expected to begin at the end of June this year.
US Foods is expected to relocate its operations into the new building in the first quarter of 2015.
