According to reports released by Gartner, global smartphone sales in Q3 grew 20.3% to 301 million units. The three Chinese domestic brands, Huawei, Xiaomi and Lenvo broke into Top 5 after Samsung and Apple.
The reports says smartphone accounted for 66% of global cellphone sales and the rate will reach 90% in 2018. Emerging markets exhibited some of the highest growths ever . Gartner predicted that total smartphone sales of this year will reach 1200 million units.
Huawei,Xiaomi and Lenvo ranks 3rd, 4th and 5th in top five vendors, together with a 4.1 market share. Samsung and Apple recorded 37% of global market share, declining 7% on last year.
Roberta Cozza,director of research of Gartner, said feature phone sales declined 25% in Q3 due to the fact the price gap between feature phone and low-end smartphone with Android system keeps dropping.
