Volvo Is Planning to Unveil The New V60 D6 Awd Plug-in Diesel Hybrid

Swedish car maker Volvo is planning to unveil the new V60 D6 AWD plug-in diesel hybrid at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to be held in the UK.

The new plug-in diesel hybrid, claimed to be the world's first of its type, features a five-cylinder 2.4litre turbo diesel which powers the front wheels and generates 215hp and torque of 440 Nm.

Rear wheels of the new plug-in hybrid are powered by electric motor which produces an output of 70hp and emits 49g/km of CO2 on the combined cycle.

According to Volvo, the new hybrid offers three driving modes which include Pure, Hybrid or Power.

In the pure mode the car will be powered solely by its electric motor, while the hybrid mode comes as standard setting whenever the car is started in which the hybrid offers a total range of up to 621 miles.

In Power mode, the car will offer maximum possible power with the diesel engine and electric motor generating a total power output of 215+70 hp and maximum torque of 440+200Nm while it can sprint from 0-62km/h in 6.2 seconds.

The carmaker will also unveil the V40 five-door hatchback powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine mated six-speed manual gearbox and start/stop function and produces an output of 115hp and 270 Nm of torque.

V40 hatch back will be available at a starting price of GBP19,745 on the road.
