DIEPPE, NB — The Trucks for Change Network is spreading its influence east to help more charities in Atlantic Canada and they have the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association’s (APTA) backing.
Trucks for Change, a broker that connects charities such as Habitat for Humanity and Food Banks with carriers who can provide reduced-cost or free goods movements, already has several APTA member carriers onboard.
“Finding affordable transportation often makes the difference between a charity accepting donated goods or having them end up in landfill sites, so there’s an environmental benefit as well. We’re thrilled to have APTA’s endorsement, and we look forward to helping its members make a difference in communities across Atlantic Canada,” said Pete Dalmazzi, the founder and president of T4C.
“APTA members have always actively supported charities. Our job is to make the process more efficient by finding the right carrier with the right equipment in the right place to help,” Dalmazzi said.
T4C’s membership already includes Midland Transport, Day & Ross Transportation Group, Eassons Transport Limited, Armour Transportation Systems and Shoreland Transport, but with the APTA's support, T4C hopes to raise its profile among Atlantic trucking companies, and thereby assist more charities.
APTA’s Executive Director Jean-Marc Picard commented: “T4C’s mission is consistent with APTA’s goal of promoting an environmentally and socially responsible commercial trucking industry in Atlantic Canada. We are happy to endorse its efforts, and we encourage our members to participate”.
