LEGO Muppets play-sets could become a reality.
A 39-year-old teacher from Kearns, US, has created a selection of Minifigures and play-sets based on the popular Disney property.
He has pitched his idea using the LEGO Cuusoo website, which allows users to vote for their favourite fan-made creations. Those with 10,000 votes will be officially reviewed by LEGO, and one will be chosen for production every three months.
LEGO Cuusoo has already seen a Back to the Future LEGO set enter production, and LEGO Legend of Zelda reviewed.
Quinn Rollins, the creator of the LEGO Muppets sets, is currently 7,500 votes short of an official LEGO review.
He has created 40 miniature Muppet LEGO figurines including Kermit, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear.
If Rollins' idea makes it into production, he will receive one per cent of the royalties from all sales made.
"I think putting those two things together, it makes sense," Rollins told The Salt Lake Tribune. "The Muppets, it’s a very colourful world and with LEGO, I think it’s a very colourful world.
"Really I just like the idea, and I think it would be fun. And to me it would feel like a big accomplishment more than anything else.
"Once I started, I felt like I needed to make every Muppet that ever existed," Rollins said, noting his pastime has kind of become an obsessive compulsion.
"LEGO Cuusoo an interesting business model. See what people want, give it to them and see if they actually buy it.
"As far as I know, they’re the only major toy company that has done something like this."
