Semiconductor materials distributor Wah Lee Industrial has reported revenues of NT$2.89 billion (US$97.95 million) for October 2013, down 5.5% sequentially but up 9.9% on year. Cumulative sales through October reached NT$28.38 billion, edging up 7.7% from a year earlier.
Inventory adjustments in the supply chain and reduced sales of related chemical materials contributed to the sequential sales decline for October, said the company.
However, orders for the company's new product lines, including high performance engineering plastics, have improved since October, and order visibility of related products for the information industry has extended to year-end 2013, the company revealed.
In addition to high-performance plastics, sales of other product lines including semiconductor materials, flat panels and green energy products are also expected to remain steady in the fourth quarter, said the company.
Meanwhile, Wah Lee has begun shipping its materials for the production of LED lighting fixtures, and this new product line will contribute more significantly to revenue growth in 2014, added the company.
