Paper and packaging company International Paper is set to introduce a new 350gsm heavy weight paper to its PRO-DESIGN range in August 2012. The paper is ideal for printing applications.
The range has environmentally friendly manufacturing process and accreditations to both PEFC and EU Ecolabel certifications, packagingeurope.com reported. The whole range will shift from being PEFC certified to FSC certified from the end of 2012 and will further provide environmental guarantee of the product's sustainability standards.
PRO-DESIGN is produced at International Paper's Saillat mill in France, which has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 78%, since 1990.
International Paper country manager UK Mike Robertson said the addition of the new 350gsm to the company's color laser brand will help answer the needs from its customers for the board weight.
"We are also addressing our customer requirement for FSC certification at the end of 2012 when the full range will become FSC Certified," Robertson added.
