The Volume of Trade Exchanges in 2011 Amounted to USD 329 Million

Tehran Times cited Mr Ahmad Alirezabeigi Iran's East Azarbaijan Province's governor general as saying that Iran and Armenia have set the target of USD 3 billion in their annual bilateral trade.

The report said that on December 2nd,Armenian Ambassador in Tehran Mr Gregor Araklyan described Tehran-Yerevan ties as positive and said Iran is currently the 7th biggest trade partner of Armenia.

Mr Araklyan said that the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries in 2011 amounted to USD 329 million.

He said that presently 500 Iranian companies are doing business in Armenia.

After gaining independence,his country adopted a policy of free trade and competitive market,he added that among the ex-soviet countries,Armenia enjoys the most liberal trade network.

He added that his country was apt for foreign investments in such areas as water,electricity,gas and mines,adding that Armenia would welcome Iranian experts and investors.
