CHS,a US-based grains and food company owned by farmers and ranchers,has completed the acquisition of Atman,a Goiania,Brazil-based input distribution and grain origination company,for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition,which is a part of CHS strategy to support commodity business expansion,was executed by the company's CHS do Brasil unit in Brazil.
CHS South America senior vice president Stefano Rettore said that the company is expanding its South American grain and crop nutrients business.
"This acquisition will help us further fulfill the CHS aspiration for global commodities expansion by providing expertise in barter operations that are key to the business model in the Brazilian cerrado,"Rettore said.
In May,CHS announced that it acquired 25%stake in TCN,a Brazilian logistics company and also signed a long-term agreement regarding export terminal access at the Port of Itaqui,Sao Luis,Brazil.
CHS supplies energy,crop nutrients,grain marketing services,livestock feed,food and food ingredients.
