Porsche Revenue up 28.1% at the period of January-September 2012

German sports car manufacturer Porsche has reported 28.1% rise in its revenue generated during January to September 2012 to EUR10.15bn compared to EUR7.92bn during the same period in 2011.

During the period, sales increased 20.2% to 103,245 units worldwide in addition to 22.9% rise in profit to EUR1.88bn compared to the same period in 2011.

The carmaker's production increased 18.4% to 111,076 vehicles during the initial nine months of 2012 compared to 93,799 units produced during the same period in 2011.

Porsche chief financial officer Lutz Meschke said the firm has matched the results of the entire previous year after only nine months in 2012.

"The scalable cost structure with comparatively low fixed costs constitutes a crucial success factor for Porsche AG," Meschke said.

Porsche's 911 model series generated 39.8% growth to 19,261 sold vehicles, while Cayenne model series reported largest volume of about 54,860 units sold and a growth rate of 24.9% during the period.

During the initial nine months of 2012, Porsche sold 24,859 vehicles in China, 41,212 units in Asia, Russia with 2,628 vehicles, 11,905 units in Germany, and 24,982 in the US.
