Epileds, a Taiwan-based maker of AlGaInP and InGaN LED chips for use in LED lighting, on August 13 released financial report for the second quarter of 2012, with net operating profit of NT$61 million (US$2.0 million) hiking on quarter by 265%.
Epileds had production capacity fully utilized in the second quarter mainly due to strong demand for AlGaInP LED chips, the company indicated.
Epileds began to screen out orders with low prices and gross margins in July, with orders on hand for shipments scheduled for within one month, the company noted. Epileds expects consolidated revenues for the third quarter of 2012 to likely decrease sequentially.
