Sammi Gros has invented a new type of LED "Tail Lights." They are not your usual LED tail lights for automotive applications, but six LED double sided strands clipped to horse tails. According to Kickstarter's product introduction, Gros decided to launch safety lights for equestrian lovers after being hit by a car during a riding trip with a friend four years ago. The safety lights for horses aims to help avoid potential motor accidents for riders.(Please click here for video).

The lights that Gros has worked on over the last three years come with over 15 hours of battery life. The lights can be customized, and comes in different colors including blue, red, green, white, pink, purple or yellow. Brightness settings can also be set to low for group rides, medium which Gros claims can be seen for more than half a mile, or high intensity brightness in case of an emergency. The emergency light displays in yellow strobbing patterns for rescuers to sight easily. The lights are all-weather suitable. The battery and light case are sonically sealed for waterproof and encased in silicone rubber.

The company has not decided which U.S. or international manufacturer to make the prototype a mass produced product yet. The product is still finalizing supply chain processes, prototype testing and refinements, compliance testing and certifications, package design and others.
