Opel, the subsidiary of US carmaker General Motors (GM), has unveiled the new Meriva mini MPV variant, powered by a 1.4litre turbo gasoline powertrain mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The new powertrain will generate an output of 120hp and torque of 200Nm at 1,750 rpm as well as can accelerate from idle to 100 km/h in 11.9 seconds while offering a top speed of 185 km/h.
According to Opel, the new variant will achieve a fuel consumption in the combined cycle of about 7.2 l/100 km, while Meriva with the same powertrain, mated to a manual six-speed transmission will consume 6.4litre per 100 km.
Meriva is also offered in diesel variant featuring 1.7 l CDTI engine which generates an output of 110 hp and torque of 280Nm as well as can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 12.9 seconds while offering a top speed of 178 km/h.
The 1.4 turbocharged gasoline variant mated to six-speed automatic transmission will be priced at EUR19,610, while the 1.7 CDTI Meriva automatic variant will be offered at a price of EUR 20,190.
