Polish family-owned brewery Jablonowo Brewery has introduced its Piwo na Miodzie Gryczanymi beer in Ball Packaging Europe-built aluminum cans under the Manufaktura Piwna label.
Until now, Piwo na Miodzie Gryczanymi, an upper premium range of craft beers targeting sophisticated consumers, has only been available in glass bottles.
The 500ml aluminum cans feature a special matt varnish, which highlights the beer's premium character, thereby guaranteeing its proper positioning on the market.
Ball Europe Alcoholic Beverages business manager Antti Laakkonen said beverage producers are expanding their offerings, as consumers are increasingly opting for specialty beers, and also tend to drink at home or with friends during outdoor gatherings.
''As a result, they are more likely to choose beverages in practical, convenient packaging that is easy to handle and consume from at virtually any kind of event,'' Laakkonen added.
Besides preventing ingress of light and oxygen, cans are also considered to be the most suitable type of packaging for beer, due to its ability to keep the beverage inside fresh and flavorsome for a longer duration.
Piwo na Miodzie Gryczanymi is a dark, unfiltered beer brewed with undervalued buckwheat, duly odlezakowane, and is sweetened with excellent buckwheat honey prior to filling.
