IPAMA Has Urged The Government to Enforce a Ban on Import of Second-Hand Machinery

Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA) has urged the government to enforce a ban on import of second-hand machinery as domestic companies are facing challenges from such low quality machine imports.

IPAMA stated that the major challenge is from China, from where such cheap machines are being exported.

Further, the association requested the government to impose anti-dumping duty on import of machinery from China.

Said to be up to ten years old, the machines are imported to India in the form of scrap.

Anticipated to grow by $20.9bn in a year's time, India, according to IPAMA, is one of the fastest growing markets for printing and packaging industry.
