The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has released the domestic construction sector indicators for the third quarter of the current year. The calendar adjusted turnover index in the domestic construction sector in the third quarter of this year increased by 16.4 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Accordingly, in the quarter in question, the calendar adjusted production index in Turkey's domestic construction sector increased by 8.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The production index in domestic building construction was up from 130.7 to 137.7, increasing by 5.3 percent, while the production index in civil engineering rose from 107.4 to 128.7, increasing by 19.8 percent, both compared to the third quarter of 2012. Meanwhile, the seasonal and calendar adjusted production index for the construction sector rose by 1.9 percent in the third quarter this year as compared to the second quarter.
