The romaine supplied by Amazing Coachella,a grower based in California,US,has been linked to the E.coli illnesses in California and Canada.
According to the California Department of Public Health(CDPH),the romaine that led to E.coli outbreak in April was grown and distributed by Amazing Coachella, which is the parent company of Peter Rabbit Farms.
Investigations revealed that the romaine was shipped to a distributor in Quebec, and also supplied to the California restaurant and a restaurant in the Miramichi,New Brunswick, reported thepacker.com.
The California Department of Public Health noted that CDPH and FDA checked the farm but were unable to identify any issues that could have led to the contamination
"The field had long since been harvested at the time of the investigation and all lettuce from the implicated lots had long since been consumed or disposed."
The official noted that although the investigation is closed, they will continue to evaluate for additional positive sample results or illnesses associated with the firm's products.
