The chandelier, created by Danish design duo Hilden & Diaz, turns the room around it into a forest using a trick of the light. Tree-like shadows are cast onto the walls as the light shines through the chandelier, named Forms in Nature. The amount of woodland desired can be adjusted using a dimmer switch. The effect of the light sculpture is eerie, but beautiful.

Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz were inspired by drawings by German naturalist, Ernst Haeckel, as well as the painter, Casper Friedrich. The pair liked the idea of man being consumed by the vastness of nature, and man’s insignificance in comparison. The delicate sculpture is made from specially made hardened plastic powder, which can withstand the heat from the LED lamp. The components were built using a 3D printer.
