Plastic packaging firm RPC has developed a new thermoformed twist cup for Orkla Foods Norway’s Denja range.
RPC Superfos and RPC Promens have worked with Orkla to develop a thermoformed twist cup with an injection moulded screw lid, which can be used for a new selection of Denja range such as shrimps, beans, chicken or beetroot.
The companies have used two different technologies and two distinct resin materials such as PET and PP to design the convenient and lightweight pack.
The new pack is labelled with high gloss colour labels on both pot and lid. It is designed to accommodate the pot standing on top, enabling good facing on shelf.
End users can easily open and close the salad pack by simply twisting and turning the lid.
RPC said the open and re-closure mechanism is special in the salad segment and serves as a distinguishing feature.
Orkla Foods Norway packaging developer Kjersti Trmborg said: "RPC Superfos and RPC Promens have done a really good job designing and developing the new pack in close cooperation with us and fully deserve the accolade."
RPC Promens senior project engineer Tore Lund said: "The ScanStar 2016 prize complements our common project, which was possible thanks to a combined effort across capabilities and technologies from RPC Superfos and RPC Promens."
