Coca-Cola’s bottling partner in India, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCBPL), has announced plans to invest INR6000m ($110.82m) to set up a bottling facility in Vikasnagar tehsil of Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
At its proposed Dehradun plant, the company will bottle non-alcoholic carbonated beverages primarily and would also manufacture juice and fruits based drinks.
The company has signed an agreement with the State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCUL) of Uttarakhand in this regard.
As part of the agreement, the state will provide 60 acres land to the bottling plant at the rate of INR9.5m ($0.18m) per acre.
Around 1,000 people are expected to get direct and indirect employment with the new project in place.
HCCBPL, which plans to invest the amount in two phases on the project, manufactures, packages, sells and distributes beverages under Coca-Cola's trademarks.
