TUMI Men & Women Outerwear Will Be Designed by David Peyser

David Peyser Sportswear, Inc., the parent Company to Weatherproof, Junior Gallery and MV Sport, announces license agreement with TUMI, Inc., to design, develop and distribute TUMI Outerwear for both men and women.

“We select our partners based on shared values. David Peyser Sportswear takes the same dedicated approach to quality, design, innovation and operational excellence. This licensing partnership for TUMI Outerwear further strengthens the brand’s lifestyle positioning and diversified product offerings to our consumer,” said Alan Krantzler, SVP Brand Management, TUMI.

New Brand Leadership

David Peyser Sportswear also announced that it has named prominent apparel executive Scott Branscum as President to lead the creative direction and overall operations and vision for the TUMI Outerwear brand. Leveraging his expertise in blending fashion, functionality and style, Mr. Branscum will be responsible for infusing TUMI’s premium, innovative quality and heritage with technologies that improve product performance in lifestyle situations. The inaugural offering will be a collection ready for the retail marketplace Fall 2014.

“Scott is a strong and proven talent, whose pioneering ideas have transformed menswear companies for more than two decades,” said Eliot Peyser, CEO of David Peyser Sportswear. “We are thrilled to have Scott leading this exciting new direction as TUMI Outerwear enters its next phase of growth.”

Mr. Branscum brings more than 20 years of building apparel brands, most recently developing and launching Massif, the first brand in the marketplace to marry sophisticated fashion with high performance characteristics. Prior to that, he served as President and CEO of SB Premier Brands, a Schottenstein-Bernstein division.

Mr. Branscum previously served as Executive Vice President of Perry Ellis International, where he launched a new outerwear division, created brand extension categories and developed private label brands for major retailers. Mr. Branscum has also held senior positions at leading retailers including Eddie Bauer and Cutter & Buck Corporation.

“TUMI’s products are world renowned for innovation, compelling design, superior quality, durability and functionality,” said Mr. Branscum. “I am proud to have the opportunity to leverage the Company’s strong heritage, and build out the outerwear category by combining creative design with technical, modern features.”

New Showcase for Tumi Apparel Brand

The Company also announced it will open a 6,000 square-foot showroom to showcase the TUMI Outerwear collection at 463 Seventh Avenue, New York City. The showroom is scheduled to open by the end of the year, in time to launch TUMI Outerwear’s first collection under Mr. Branscum’s creative direction.

Inspired by the new flagship Tumi in-store design, the space will encompass elements and fixtures that draw feeling from minimalist and sophisticated basics, and include design details that elevate the environment to be a strong competitor in the premium market.
