Tatung Has Been Constructing Rooftop PV Systems at More Than 70 Public Schools in Taiwan

Taiwan-based Tatung has been constructing rooftop PV systems at more than 70 public schools in central Taiwan and already unveiled the first one on May 28, according to the company.

Tatung in December 2013 won the project from Nantou County government, the company said. With total installation capacity of 12MWp, the project will be completed with all rooftop systems connected to power grids in two years. They can generate an estimated 13.39 million kWh of electricity a year, equivalent to reduction in carbon emissions of 8.19 million tonnes, Tatung said.

Tatung has also developed energy-saving solutions, having provided AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) for state-run Taiwan Power Company and smart energy management systems for enterprises to reduce power consumption.

Tatung is showcasing its electric products at the 2014 JECA (Japan Electrical Construction Association) Fair in Osaka, Japan during May 28-30.
