The Secretariat of Economy (SE) of Mexico published a resolution this week that announces the antidumping investigation on imports of cold rolled steel sheet originating in China, regardless of the country of origin.
The document published Thursday in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF) indicates that the department has accepted the request of the interested party and declared the beginning of the research for the merchandise entering by the tariff 7209.16.01 and 7209.17. 01 Tariff Law of General Import and Export.
It indicates that the investigation period has been set from October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013, and a period of injury and causation analysis of the domestic industry for the period of January 1, 2010, to September 30, 2013.
It notes that the SE may apply, where applicable, the final countervailing duties on products which were entered for consumption not more than 90 days before the date of application of provisional measures, in accordance with Articles 10.6 the AD Agreement and 65 A of the Foreign Trade Law.
The SE notes that research derived from the application submitted by the company Ternium Mexico, on December 19, 2013, by unfair trade practices in their mode of price discrimination on final and temporary imports of cold-rolled steel, originating in that country.
Th SE stressed that, according to Articles 6.1, 12.1 and footnote page 15 AD Agrrement; domestic producers, importers, exporters, foreign legal entities or any person interested in the outcome of the investigation will have a period of 23 working days to present its response to the official form provided for that purpose.
