Japan Family Smart Phones Ownership Ratio Increased in 2012

According to Japan's media, investigation on  communication services of families and enterprises published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs statistics show that Japan family smart phone and PHS ownership ratio was 94.5% by the end of 2012. However, ownship ratio without smart phones was 81.2%, lower than 89.4% in 2011. On the other side,  smart phone ownship ratio was 49.5%, about 1.7 times of 2011's. Tablet device raised from 8.5% of 2011 to 15.3% this year..

In contrast, fixed-line telephone ownship declined from 83.8% to 79.3% and computer ownship ratio declined from 77.4% to 75.8%. Fax machine ownship ratio declined from 45.0% to 41.5%
