Uncle T Food is recalling the Lotte brand Choco Pie as the product may contain almond that is not mentioned on the labeling of the product, according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The product being recalled was sold in 168g packs, bearing UPC 8 801062 161881 and in 336g packs, bearing UPC 8 801062 160709 or 8 801062 16825. The recalled product was sold in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and several other places.
Uncle T Food is voluntarily recalling the affected products and has warned people intolerant to almond not to consume the recalled product as it may result in serious or life threatening reaction.
CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall. However, there are no reported illnesses till date associated with the consumption of the recalled product, the agency said.
