Exports of Finnish Softwood Lumber and Planed Goods in May 2012 Showed Decline of 7%

Exports of Finnish softwood lumber and planed goods in May 2012 showed year-on-year decline of roughly 7% to 588, 000 m³. According to Finnish Forest Industries deliveries to other European countries were also down by roughly 7% to 997, 000 m³. Export to countries outside Europe decreased by 6% to 309, 000 m³. In spite of the declines in May, Finnish consignors were able to export 2.75m m³ of softwood lumber and planed goods in the first five months, a year-on-year increase of roughly 5%. In terms of individual ranges, exports of sawable lumber have shown further growth, while planed-good exports have declined. Source: euwid-wood-products
