German luxury car maker BMW is planning to build new assembly plants around the world, with Mexico and Eastern Europe being considered as its options.
BMW reported that it was planning to expand its production sites but has not yet finalised whether to choose Mexico or Eastern Europe, while added that Hungary's Miskolc and Slovakia's Kosice were the possible locations.
According to the company, its sales volume is expected to report rapid growth abroad in coming years than in European market, which is undergoing debt crisis.
The carmaker's plans will support its strategy to meet the rising demands for its cars and to select a location where it can produce cars at low rates.
Audi is also planning to build a plant in Mexico due to the low labor costs there, in addition to an exception from import duties in some areas.
