The top-spec Mitsubishi Mirage is now more than $1000 cheaper following price cuts for the Japanese manufacturer’s city car.
The Mirage LS equipped with the optional automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) now costs $16,490 – down $1250 from before.
Mitsubishi has also cut $950 and $750 from the CVT-equipped Sport and ES models respectively, as well as $500 from the LS manual and $200 from the Sport manual.
The new pricing structure staggers each variant by $1000, with the ES manual maintaining its $12,990 starting pricing, followed by the $13,990 Sport and the $14,990 LS. The CVT is a $1500 option across the range.
The Mitsubishi Mirage range is powered by a 57kW/100Nm 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine.
The ES base model comes with 14-inch steel wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, manual air conditioning, trip computer, and a two-speaker audio system with AUX/USB inputs and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
The Sport upgrades to 14-inch alloys and adds a rear spoiler and an enhanced four-speaker audio system.
The high-grade LS gains larger 15-inch alloys, fog lights, auto headlights and wipers, keyless entry with push-button start, climate control, and chrome interior door handles.
Mitsubishi has sold 6908 Mirage hatchbacks in Australia so far this year, giving it a 7.9 per cent share of the city car segment.
