16.3% Rise in Revenue Is Reported by Audi During January to September 2012

German carmaker Audi has reported 16.3% rise in its revenues between January to September 2012 to EUR37.7bn, compared to EUR32.4bn generated during the corresponding period in 2011.

During the initial nine month period, the carmaker delivered 1,097,540 units worldwide, reporting 12.8% increase compared to 973,154 units delivered during the same period last year.

Audi Finance and Organization Board of Management member Axel Strotbek said after three quarters of the year, the firm is still well on track to reach its target for the year.

"2012 will see the Company deliver over 1.4 million vehicles," Strotbek said.

"Revenue will increase correspondingly, keeping the operating profit up on a par with the previous year."

Audi's operating profit increased 6.1% during the period to EUR4.2bn over the same period the earlier year.

During the third quarter of 2012 (Q3), the German carmaker sold 364,303 vehicles over 320,262 units sold in 2011, reporting a 15.7% rise in revenue to EUR12.6bn when compared to the same period previous year.

Audi generated an operating profit of EUR1.3bn during the quarter over EUR1.4bn generated during the same quarter in 2011.
