Demand for Larch Lumber From East Siberia Has Been Growing in Germany Since Easter

Demand for larch lumber from East Siberia has been growing in Germany since Easter. This is mainly owing to industrial planing mills having stepped up production on account of better sales opportunities for planed timber. Against this background, industrial planing mills have now apparently run down their stocks and are placing more orders again with importers. Business in larch lumber had previously been rather subdued into April, as contrary to the expectations planed timber demand had not picked up in March. In this vein, the industrial planning mills were relatively slow do use up the stocks they had built up early in the first quarter. The revival in the larch lumber business since Easter is also not as strong as otherwise usual at this time of the year, according to importers. Source: euwid-wood-products
