German plastics manufacturing company Covestro will present material solutions for customers from very different industries at Fakuma trade fair in Germany.
At the trade show the company will showcase hundreds of samples for its customers. The samples will encompass a range colours, colour effects, textured, matte and glossy surfaces, hard and soft materials and plastics.
Some of the materials that will be showcased at Fakuma will be lightweight materials which are high in demand across several industries and applications.
These materials play an important role in automotive industry, especially in sustainable vehicle concepts such as electric vehicles and self-driving vehicles.
For these applications, Covestro will offer a broad range of products including transparent Makrolon polycarbonate (PC) for automotive glazing and LiDAR-permeable PC blends, to polyurethane foam systems for interior surfaces and films for displays.
The company also stated that it will showcase its plastic products in different colours as it claims that different colours can attract attention and can convey brand messages. Covestro has six Color Competence Centers across the world to advise customers on questions about colouring.
The centrers are located in Filago, Italy; Newark, Ohio, United States; Caojing (Shanghai) and Guangzhou, China; Greater Noida, India; and Map Ta Phut, Thailand.
With the help of these Color Competence Centers, the company claims to have developed polycarbonate products and processes, which can be used in create matte and glossy structure, attractive colours with deep shine along with coated or metallised surfaces.
Covestro booth director Kristian Brandt said: “We will be presenting material solutions for customers from very different industries at Fakuma.
“We also offer a comprehensive service package, through which we advise them on coloring, surface design, processing and packaging, and also run simulations.”
