German pharma packaging firm August Faller is set to showcase its smart packaging solutions at Pharmapack event in Paris, France.
The event will take place between 7 and 8 February.
At the event, the company will exhibit three smart packaging prototypes and Elisa Kit box for packaging different kit components.
Faller, along with MSC Technologies and the Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, has developed interactive drug packaging solutions, which can be equipped with small e-paper displays and electronic controls.
The prototype one includes level indicator, which is medication packaging for measuring levels. The bottle remains in the packaging during measurement.
August Faller’s prototype II is an electronic tabletcounting device, which enables patients to use buttons on the packaging to confirm whether the medication is taken or not.
The prototype three is medical prescription, in which an in-house app and Bluetooth will help doctor or pharmacist can also transfer the dosage instructions to the carton.
ELISA Kit box is a compact and flexible packaging for test reagents. The foldable box with pre-glued inserts and uniform packing dimensions is said to permit flexible packaging of different kit components for enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) testing.
August Faller provides secondary pharmaceutical packaging such as folding cartons, leaflets, labels and combination products.
The company offers serialisation, supply chain management and packaging services to the pharmaceutical and health care packaging.
