The Phantom boardshort has set the industry standard with five SIMA awards. The design of Hurley’s Fuse 2 improves upon the innovative concepts from its predecessor, the Fuse, with a heightened focus on athlete performance.

“The waistband is the only part of the boardshort that actually touches your body,” says Bruce Moore, Hurley VP of Innovation & Performance.  “We took a look at every aspect of how your body moves and focused all of our energy on the waistband.”

A neoprene-coated waistband, combined with a re-engineered support structure, makes the Fuse 2 the most advanced boardshort to date. It anchors to the body, yet allows for a full range of motion. This kind of stability is crucial in powerful surf conditions.

“When I’m surfing, it’s a fight against the elements, and comfort is key,” says Hurley athlete Julian Wilson. “The Fuse 2 does both; it allows for zero distractions in the water.”

The short features pragmatic, sustainable technology. The ultra lightweight short features bonded seams, 60 percent stretch and DWR water repellency. It is made of recycled fabric spun from12 plastic bottles per pair. To date, more than 45 million plastic water bottles have been repurposed into Hurley boardshorts.
