Taiwan-based solar cell maker Neo Solar Power announced third-quarter revenues of NT$5.17 billion (US$171.72 million). Despite 23.4% increase in shipments, gross margin came to negative 4.65%. Neo Solar Power indicated the negative gross margin was due to price drops of solar products. However, the price drop of materials, improvements of conversion efficiency and yields helped to increase gross margin comparing to the figure in second quarter. Net loss in third quarter resulted in NT$478 million with EPS of negative NT$1.16. Accumulated revenues from January-September were NT$17.550 billion, a 31% on-year increase. Net loss of the first three quarters in 2011 were NT$1.231 billion with EPS of negative NT$3.47. Inventory increased 5.73% comparing to same period last year, resulted in NT$1.72 billion.
