Czech car maker Skoda Auto is planning to launch the production version of MissionL, the Rapid, in China early next year.
The concept, which was unveiled last year at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and with its Asian appearance at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, will be launched in China as part of the company's plan to launch a new car every six months.
The new Skoda Rapid will be offered with two powertrain options, which include a petrol version and diesel version, both with 1.6-litre displacement, delivering an output of about 103hp.
According to Skoda, the 4.39m long, 1.70m wide and 1.40m tall Rapid, is being assembled in India since last October, and is expected to seal the gap between Fabia and Octavia.
The company has reported a 15.3% rise in its world-wide sales to 879,200 units sold in 2011, while has sold about 220,089 vehicles in China.
