According to data released by the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), the US service center’s steel shipments fell by 4.7% year on year in June.
In June, the shipments of flat rolled steel products increased by 2.6%; those of bar products fell by 6.7% and those of steel plates slid by 6.4%, all compared to those in the same period of a year ago.
Meanwhile, the steel inventories decreased by 1% from a month ago.
Among them, the stocks of flat rolled steel products decreased by 2.3%; those of steel plates increased by 3.9%, both compared to the figures in the same month of 2012.
