Mazda Has Commenced Production of Mazda2 at Mazda De Mexico Vehicle Operation

Mazda has commenced production of Mazda2 at Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operation (MMVO), a new plant in Mexico.

MMVO has also commenced operations at the newly constructed MMVO's engine machining plant which adopts the production technologies similar to that present at the company's Hiroshima Plant.

Mazda 2 will be powered by 1.5-liter Skyactiv gasoline four-cylinder engine, and according to the company SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY is high in demand globally.

Mazda is planning to increase the annual production capacity of the plant up to 250,000 units and the company expects the plant to produce diverse range of products.

MMVO president Keishi Egawa said: "With the start of production of the all-new Mazda2, operations underway at the engine machining plant, and an increase in our annual production capacity.

"We now have an even stronger production framework capable of supplying global markets with SKYACTIV products of the same high quality level as those made in Japan. At the same time, we are pleased to be able to make a contribution to Mexico's further economic growth."
