Demand for steel pipe in the United Arab Emirates remains slow as the country enters Ramadan, which runs throughout August. The market is expected to pick up by the end of September. Tube and pipe prices locally remain unchanged since the second week of July, Steel Business Briefing learns from market sources. In the domestic market, 0.5-4 inch diameter and 2.5-3.8mm wall thickness welded pipe is being offered at $900/tonne, while pipe of the same diameter and 1.2-2mm wall thickness is priced at $980/t. The price of galvanized pipe of 2mm wall thickness and above is also stable at around $1,025/t, SBB hears. Source: steelbb.com
