A Majority Vote in Favour of Imposing Continued Import Duties on Ceramic Tiles From China

Sources at the European Union in Brussels have confirmed that there was a majority vote in favour of imposing continued import duties on ceramic tiles from China. The proposal will now go through a written procedure in the Council until the formal adoption and publication early in September. The complaint was originally made by the European Ceramic Tile Manufacturers Association following a steady increase in the amount of tiles imported into Europe to the disadvantage of local manufacturers. Tilezine understands that there may be a slight variation in the imposed duties to be paid by importers following provisional duties announced in March. Duties will apply on all Chinese imported ceramic tiles for up to five years. Details of the duties will be announced in Tilezine. Source: tilezine.co.uk
