Class 8 truck orders remained above 20,000 units in November, according to preliminary results from ACT Research.
Classes 5-7 orders came in at 18,000 units and Class 8 orders totaled 21,200 units, ACT reported.
"The 'Great OK' continued for Classes 5-8 commercial vehicle orders placed in November," said Steve Tam, ACT's vice-president, commercial vehicle sector.
After posting the best order month since February 2008 in October, November's Classes 5-7 vehicle preliminary orders exceeded trend and expectations, ACT reported.
Compared to a year ago, medium duty orders were up 26% in November and 11% YTD. Class 8 net orders, which had spiked to their highest level in nearly two years in October, retreated in November. November's Class 8 order volume represents gains of 6% compared to last November and 13% YTD.
