Singletrack High Will Be Screened During The Sea Otter Classic in Monterey

Singletrack High, a documentary about the high school mountain bike racing movement, will be screened during the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, California, later this month.

The film takes a close look at the National Interscholastic Cycling Association's NorCal league, following a group of racers through the 2012 season.

Singletrack High will show at the Golden State Theater in Monterey on Saturday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. The screening will be followed by a VIP reception at the theater with student-athletes from the film and mountain biking luminaries including Ned Overend, Gary Fisher, Lea Davison and Jeremiah Bishop.

Filmmaker Jacob Seigel-Boettner, who co-produced the film with his brother Isaac, said, "Even as former high school and collegiate cyclists, it was an eye-opener for us to see the impact that mountain bike racing has had on these kids. Being part of a high school bike team has helped them find acceptance, accept themselves, and expand their worlds. Seeing this on-the-bike transformation on screen has definitely inspired audiences to hop on their bikes, hit the trail and join the movement."

Singletrack High was produced by Pedal Born Pictures with support from Specialized Bicycle Components, GoPro and Sunnyvale VW.
