Fujifilm, through its global commercialization arm in China, EU and Asia-Pacific, has entered into an agreement to distribute Beacon Endoscopic's endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) devices outside the US.
Beacon Endoscopic co- founder Brian Tinkham said the company's collaboration with Fujifilm will enable physicians to know the distinctive features of the BNX system.
"We anticipate broad acceptance of the technology due to several of our unique features: procedural efficiency, improved clinical safety and cost-effectiveness," Tinkham added.
In addition, both the companies are planning to co-develop interventional endoscopy technologies.
Fujifilm-China vice president Masahiro Ota said the BNX system, when combined with the company's Endoscopic Ultrasonography system, can be used in both diagnostic EUS and therapeutic EUS procedures.
"There is great interest in the availability of the BNX System along with our EUS SU-8000 and SU-7000 platform for the rapidly growing China market," Ota added.
