TOY FAIR 2014: Keith Graftham Was on Hand to Collect The Award for Best Designed Stand

Toy Fair first timers Minimasters Sports Company takes Best Use of an Official Economy Shell Stand

Toy Fair 2014 not only saw some of the hottest new products to look out for this year, but also the inaugural crowning of this year's Best Stand Award winners.

And this year the coveted prize was scooped up by Green Board Games and Toy Fair first timers The Minimasters Sports Company.

Judged by the BTHA team and presented by Simon Pilling, head of operations and sales, and Frank Martin, BTHA Chairman, the awards celebrated both the Best Designed Stand 2014 and Best Use of an Official Economy Shell Stand.

Green Board Games' CEO, Keith Graftham was on hand to collect the award for Best Designed Stand.

Grafham said: "This is a really good result for us. We like to be innovative and fun and enjoy everything we do. Hopefully that comes across in all of our products.

"We know people like to sit down at these shows, so we decided to have a stand where we can sit visitors down and bring products to them, long with one of our milkshakes.

"We are absolutely over the moon to be given the award. It represents not only our presence at the show but us as a company. We are growing and growing."

Meanwhile, it was The Minimaster Sports Company's head coach, William Harper who collected the award for Best Use of an Official Economy Shell Stand, transforming his stand into a miniature golf course.

Harper said: "It's our first time at Toy Fair and we go and win a prize. It's brilliant. We didn't launch the business properly until yesterday [Monday, January 20th] so we made it by the skin of our pants."

Pilling concluded: "The award acknowledge the process and effort of these companies over the last few years. When the effort goes in we like to reward it.

"It's always a hard process to choose the winner. All the stands put a lot of effort in. Exhibitors always spend a lot of money on their stands and it's always nice to reward those ones that do go the extra mile."
