Atelier GARDEUR Presents Pencil Skirts in Floral Prints

For Spring/Summer 2014 Atelier GARDEUR presents pencil skirts in new asymmetrical and repeat-based floral prints as the focal theme for its skirt collection.

Moving to the foreground alongside this are pleated skirts with versatile patterns and geometric designs: box pleats, asymmetrically placed inlaid folds with varying depths all the way down to accordion pleats.

Ankle-length maxi skirts with voluminous hem widths come in airy printed materials. Colours are here to stay but in a subdued manner.

The scheme ranges from sea-coloured tones such as ocean blue and aqua to bronze and even grenadine, lime green and off-white. Natural shades like olive, hibiscus and vanilla make for freshness and easy coordination.

Trends

Geometrics: Summer 2014 is all about geometric patterns featured in all conceivable facets: as checkerboard textures, burnt-out looks in the form of backed cut-out materials all the way to mini or striped designs.

Stripes dominate in a variety of versions, both regular and ring stripes – as block stripes they either come in different widths all-over or in irregularly graduated shades. Paired with black or off-white they form a clear-cut geometric chic – additional bold colours such as lemon yellow made a statement in details or trims. Materials with a slightly flowing drape clash with the otherwise clear lines and graphical strictness.

Hot off the press! In Summer 2014 great variety is ensured by a multitude of prints and materials. Opulent multi-coloured floral prints team with Italian dolce vita as seen in the foulard with placed creepers or the lace-look, matt/shine jacquard.

Lace is generally increasing in importance – either with a sporty slant on cotton batiste with broderie anglaise or in that typical look backed with coloured cotton lining. New here are prints in the traditional blue-white Delft tile pattern, used-look Paisleys or plaid prints on sheer organza. Often different designs are combined like in a collage within one print and harmoniously blended with each other.

Sportiness: “City Jungle” fuses elegance with casualness. The colour scheme features naturals such as olive and vanilla – hibiscus comes into play as a colourful eyecatcher. Plain materials with a tricotine texture encounter trench-coat styles: extralong tie-up belts, broad welt pockets or metallic details such as eyelets adorning pocket slits give this cultivated yet informal urban safari a sporty slant.
