Kaneka has unveiled KANEKA KanCapA, a new protein A chromatography resin to purify therapeutic antibodies.
Protein A chromatography resin is widely used to produce antibodies due to its high affinity and excellent selectivity for antibodies.
KANEKA KanCapA also exhibits alkaline resistance, stability over repeated cycle use, high antibody absorbing capacity and alkaline resistance.
The company plans to commercialise and sell the resin in October 2012.
Kaneka is also developing next generation chromatography resins for biopharmaceuticals production.
The company has collaborated with Eurogentec for contract manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals and GeneFrontier Corporation for drug candidate exploration to offer technical and cost effective solutions in the field of biopharmaceuticals.
