AGR Will Be Building Upon Presence at The 20th Africa Oil Week in Cape Town

Global oil and gas service company, AGR, has long had a presence throughout Africa and so will be building upon this at the 20th Africa Oil Week in Cape Town (25-29 November).

The richness and diversity of hydrocarbon habitats, combined with the expanding markets in Africa, make it an attractive region for investment opportunities for established E&P companies and new entrants alike.

Under the banner of TRACS Evaluations, AGR will be promoting its range of services which can assist oil companies, both large and small, banks and financial institutions.

Ian Burdis, AGR's EVP UK and West Africa, commented: "Our specialists have extensive experience of all the major hydrocarbon provinces - deep water West Africa, onshore pre-salt plays, tight gas fields and fractured carbonates in North Africa, in addition to the complex sandstone reservoirs of South Africa.

"The evaluations teams consist of commercial and technical specialists with extensive experience in subsurface analysis, reserves auditing, commercial evaluations and business consultancy. We also provide independent advice to buyers and brokers on less tangible aspects such as operator competence, partner issues and other opportunities within the region.

"These are exciting times for Africa with new markets opening up and a suite of major projects underway. We are proud to continue providing Asset and Portfolio Valuations, Due Diligence reporting, Competent Person's Reports and Reserves Audits to our existing clients and we look forward to liaising with new entrants to this sector this week."

In the field of acquisitions and divestments, AGR combines subsurface, reserves auditing, commercial evaluation and business skills to evaluating a portfolio.  For acquisitions, the company supplies an evaluation team which can be supplemented by drilling and facilities engineers.  AGR has the expertise to build a tailored fiscal model to evaluate post-tax NPV for most countries and identify key uncertainties and risks to assess the full range of value.

These reserves audits have been used to support listings on stock exchanges, to raise private equity funds, to support acquisition and disposition and to review operator performance.

The company uses its teams of subsurface experts to support reserve estimates.  The multi-disciplinary approach ensures that all technical and commercial aspects of the reserves and resources are fully considered within the audit and conveyed to the client.

The majority of studies are carried out by AGR's Reservoir team, many of whom moved to the company from the highly respected TRACS consultancy when the two joined forces.  The team has been delivering acknowledged and industry leading evaluation reports since the early 1990s when the TRACS brand was established.
