Multispecialty Physician Partners (MPP), a Renal Ventures Management company, and Rheumatology Associates of Dallas have entered into a joint venture partnership for operating six infusion centers around the Dallas Metroplex.

MPP duties will include operations, management and marketing of the six outpatient facilities.

These six outpatient facilities provide intravenous and injectable drug infusion therapy to around 1,000 area patients with a range of health conditions.

MPP president and CEO Greg Meadows noted that the centers intentionally strive to provide a very different atmosphere from a hospital, placing an emphasis on convenience, a non-infectious environment and a comfortable place to receive infusions in which patients can work, socialize and relax.

This distinction is important for patients managing chronic diseases who spend lots of time in an infusion center, Meadows added.

"These facilities will offer convenient hours, on-time appointments, no waiting times and amenities such as heated chairs, WiFi access and personal, high-definition flat-screen televisions. The patient experience will be unlike anything else in the area," Meadows added.

Dr Stanley Cohen of Rheumatology Associates will act as the group leader for the six centers.

Dr Cohen will supervise other physicians, nurses and clinical staff at the six centers.

"We are proud to join forces with MPP. The joint venture will allow us the flexibility to provide exceptional quality services and a better value and clinical atmosphere than other providers," Dr Cohen added.

MPP also operates the Infusion Center of Denver in addition to the six new infusion centers around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
